Babou Alieu Ceesay stars as John on NBC's drama series "A.D. The Bible Continues."

Ceesay recently wrapped "Eye in the Sky," opposite Helen Mirren and Aaron Paul and directed by Gavin Hood. Prior to that, he starred in the British historical action film "'71" and the romantic drama "Half of a Yellow Sun," alongside Thandie Newton and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Ceesay has also been featured on several television series, including "Inspector Lewis," "Getting On," "Strike Back," "Luther," "Casualty" and "Law & Order: UK."
