Marlyne Barrett plays Maggie Lockwood on the NBC drama "Chicago Med."

A versatile actress known for her roles in television, film and theater, Barrett received a Best Performance - Drama nomination for a NAMIC Vision Award.

Barrett's credits include a recurring role on the critically acclaimed series "The Wire." She also appeared on "Damages," "American Crime" and "Law & Order: SVU."

Her feature credits include the Will Smith comedy "Hitch," Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 3" and the indie films "Quest: The Truth Always Rises" and "After Everything." More recently, Barrett executive produced and starred in the Oscar-nominated short film "Night Call," which garnered numerous awards, including eight best short film awards (including the Short Film Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival), four best of fest/audience awards and three best lead actress awards.

After directing more than 20 regional theater productions in New York, Barrett made her directorial debut with the short film "Haimerican," which she also wrote and produced. The film had its premiere at the Cannes International Pan African Film Festival.
