Actor Bio

Marin Hinkle stars in NBC's midseason drama "Deception" as Samantha Bowers, the wife of Bowers Pharmaceutical C.F.O. Edward Bowers (Tate Donovan) and mother to their two young daughters, Hunter and Lily, who may hold a crucial clue in the Vivian Bowers murder.

Hinkle includes among her television credits the role of Judith, Jake's mother, on the CBS award-winning comedy series "Two and a Half Men" for the past nine seasons. She also portrayed Judy on "Once and Again" for three seasons. Hinkle has had recurring roles on "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," "Brothers and Sisters" and "The Sarah Silverman Program." Some of her various guest-starring roles include appearances on "Without a Trace," "House," "ER," "Private Practice," "My Own Worst Enemy," "Army Wives" and all three of the "Law & Order" series.

Her feature film credits include "My Eleventh," "Friends with Money," "Turn the River," "I Am Sam," "Frequency," "Dark Blue," "Final," "Rails and Ties," "What Just Happened?," "Quarantine," "Imagine That," "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" and "Weather Girl."

Hinkle's Broadway theater credits include "Electra," "A Thousand Clowns" and "The Tempest." Marin has extensive off-Broadway credits, which include such plays as "RX," "Graceland," "Miss Julie," "The Dybbuk," "Blue Window," "Sabina" and "Wonderful Time." Hinkle has worked extensively in regional theaters across the country where some of her favorite plays have included "Circle Mirror Transformation," "Extraordinary Chambers," "What They Have," "Evolution," "God of Vengeance," "As You Like It," "Uncle Vanya" and "Romeo and Juliet."

Over the last decade and a half, Marin has balanced her roles on television with her love for theater. She deeply supports new work and has been proud to have originated roles in world premiere productions of over a dozen new plays in New York, Los Angeles and theaters across the country.

Born in Tanzania, Hinkle grew up in Boston. She earned a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a master's degree from New York University.
