Who is the 2022 Emmys Host?
Saturday Night Live's Kenan Thompson host the 2022 Emmy Awards, the Television Academy announced in August. “Kenan is well-regarded as one of the funniest, likable, and accomplished performers of the last two decades, and his tenure on Saturday Night Live speaks for itself," Jen Neal, the Executive Vice President of Live Events for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said in a statement. "We know he’ll bring an excitement and professionalism to the Emmy Awards that a show of this stature deserves.”
When speaking to the L.A. Times about his upcoming gig, Thompson said, "I feel great. There’s a great team that’s involved. I definitely don’t feel like I’m floating out there by myself. I’m really excited about it. There’s some great pieces coming together."
As for seeking out advance from fellow SNL cast members and veteran Emmys hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost? "I have not been in touch with them, necessarily. I’m going to be pretty straightforward—a good monologue and keeping the energy up will be my approach. I enjoy honoring artistry and creativity."
