Why Simon Cowell Had Camille K Sing Twice During Her 'Beautiful' Audition
The AGT Judge stopped the 16-year-old in the middle of her performance.
With Acts like Alex Rivers and Connor Johnson on this season of America's Got Talent, we've learned that when Simon Cowell gives you a second chance at your Audition, you better take it. And this was proven yet again with Camille K.
The 16-year-old took to the AGT stage for the ninth and final round of Auditions. "I've seen so many other amazingly talented Artists come on this show and have their dreams come true, so I hope it's the same case for me," she told the audience. "I wanna spread joy and love through music and tell my story."
But the singer and guitarist barely got through one minute of her performance before Cowell asked her to stop.
"That was OK," he said. "You have a nice voice. My only issue is you have to do something more standout, so I'm curious to hear what your songwriting's like."
That's when the Artist broke out into her original song, "Still in Love," which she explained was about "suffering from a heartbreak but you're still in love with that said person."
By the end of her Audition, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara gave the student a standing ovation. Camille K was moved to tears.
"The word beautiful comes to mind," Cowell said. "I think, as with all Artists, it's about finding the song that defines you. And going forward, if you go forward, that is the key."
Vergara added, "I thought your voice was much more than beautiful. I thought it was spectacular."
The Judges ultimately chose not to advance Camille K to the Live Shows. However, that doesn't mean we won't hear more from her in the future. Whether that's on AGT or the Billboard charts, we'll just have to wait and see.
Watch AGT on NBC Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.
