Ayo Edebiri to Host SNL on February 3 with Musical Guest Jennifer Lopez
The Bear star, writer, and stand-up comedian Ayo Edebiri will host Saturday Night Live for her first time, with Jennifer Lopez returning to perform 24 years after her debut as an SNL musical guest.
The Host for Saturday Night Live's February 3 episode is a rising star who was known for her work on the page and the stage before she began collecting awards for her role on one of TV's buzziest shows, The Bear. And the musical guest has pulled double duty as Host and musical guest twice, with the upcoming episode marking her fourth time performing in Studio 8H.

Ayo Edebiri has played chef Sydney on the TV series The Bear since 2022, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Critics Choice Award in 2024.

Edebiri also had a huge year in film roles in 2023, including a role in the movie Theater Camp, co-starring in the comedy BOTTOMS, voicing April O'Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and voicing Glory in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
You also may recognize Edebiri's voice work as Missy Foreman-Greenwald on the animated series Big Mouth, and as Harriet Tubman on Clone High. She's also appeared onscreen in the TV series I Think You Should Leave, and has guest-starred as April 1, 2023 SNL Host Quinta Brunson's sister on Abbott Elementary.
But stand-up comic Edebiri is a talented writer as well. Prior to The Bear, she was a staff writer on the Apple series Dickinson, and even scripted an episode of vampire sitcom What We Do in the Shadows. Watching Edebiri mix it up with SNL's Season 49 cast is sure to be a guaranteed good time.
