Sophia Meloni wasn't the only one to give Hargitay a birthday shoutout. Her SVU onscreen son, Ryan Buggle, posted a thoughtful Instagram tribute as well.
"Happy Birthday M!! I love you more than words. You're a masterclass for life, and I think this day should be a national holiday! When people ask me what it's like working with you I pretty much just say that I pinch myself because they should take how great they already think you are and multiply by infinity!" he wrote on a series of behind-the-scenes photos of the two on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Hargitay spent her 60th birthday surrounded by love, joy, cake, and balloons. Check out the posts she made about the special day here.

In a 2014 interview with USA Today, the Law & Order: Organized Crime star opened up about his parenting style.
“I think my kids would call me a little crazy. I’m very physical, very affectionate. I’m also very disciplined and focused on education. That’s one thing that was instilled in me, one place in life where there’s no compromise," he said.
He continued, "What works for me is empowering my kids. I remember not having any power when I was growing up. Power helps kids mature, and it requires critical thinking on their part. They feel engaged in a decision, which makes them feel engaged in the family process.”
In a 2022 interview with People, he talked about what makes his kids' personalities so special. (He also has a son, 20-year-old Dante.) "I always knew I wanted kids, as did my wife. My mother always used to say to me, 'I've learned so much from you kids,' and I didn't get it. Now I get it," Meloni explained. "One is more of an old soul. I never used that term until they came out of the womb and I looked in their eyes. I was like, 'Holy cow, look at you. You're here to teach me.' As well as the other one, who's a young soul. It's ever-evolving and a complete fulfillment of my life."
