How to Choose Ben Waites as Your AGT Wildcard
The singer brought Sofia Vergara to tears during his emotional Audition.
If you're a fan of singer Ben Waites, he needs your help to advance to the America's Got Talent Season 17 Live Shows.
While the Judges have already chosen 54 Acts to perform during the Live Episodes, they left one Wildcard spot open, meaning it's up to America to choose the 55th Act. Waites is one of the four potential Wildcard Acts this summer, alongside sword swallower Auzzy Blood, singer Debbii Dawson, and comedian Jordan Conley.
We first met Waites during Auditions when he sang his own emotional rendition of Cyndi Lauper's 1986 classic, "True Colors." The Nashville vocal coach earned a standing ovation from the audience and even brought Sofia Vergara to tears.
"The message of the song, I feel, is able to speak to people no matter their age, their race, their background," he said. "It's able to communicate a message of hope."
If you'd like Waites to be this year's Wildcard Act, all you have to do is vote. Beginning Tuesday, August 2 at 7 p.m. ET, you can vote up to 10 times for your favorite Wildcard Contestant on NBC.com or through the AGT App. (Since you have 10 votes, you can spread the love across the Wildcard Contestants, too, if you feel so inclined.) Voting officially closes Friday, August 5 at 7 a.m. ET. You can watch the winning Wildcard Act perform during the Tuesday, September 6 episode. Mark your calendars accordingly.
