Secret Identities, Hidden Backstories — The 7 Biggest Unsolved Mysteries on Found
The premiere episode of Found ended with a massive twist, and the series continues to surprise viewers with startling reveals.
On Found, Gabi Mosely (Shanola Hampton) and her skilled team of crime fighters strive to bring the truth to light as they race against time to save the vulnerable and missing — but there are still some secrets even this team has yet to face.
Found has some major mysteries where fans have yet to learn the answers, whether it’s the truth behind the team members' own complicated pasts or just how Gabi’s own foray to the dark side will end after she decided to hold her one-time kidnapper, Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), captive in her basement.
Gabi has made it clear that no one on the team will be judged for how they choose to cope with their individual traumas, but kidnapping could be crossing the line even for this understanding group.
What will happen with the brazen kidnapping is just one of the many unsolved mysteries yet to play out on the unconventional crime drama, airing Tuesday nights at 9/8c on NBC ( and available for streaming the next day on Peacock!).
Here are some of the biggest questions we need to have answered on Found:
How did Sir kidnap Gabi?
Gabi was just a teenager when she was held for more than a year in a rural cabin as Sir tried to forcefully create his own perfect family, but we still don’t know a lot about how Gabi first crossed paths with the sophisticated kidnapper.

It’s still unclear what first brought these two together and what spawned the complicated relationship that exists today between them.
What happened to Annie on Found?
One thing we do know: Gabi wasn’t Sir’s first victim. In Season 1, Episode 4, we learned Sir once held another girl against her will after Gabi found a secret note tucked into a copy of the book Julius Caesar from a person named Annie.
“Day 261. My name is Annie and I am going to live,” the note read. “If you’re reading this and Sir got you too, don’t give up.”
A young Gabi (Azaria Carter) tore apart the cabin looking for any other sign of Annie, but didn’t find anything. When she later confronted Sir about Annie’s fate, he gave her an ominous answer about the “rebellious” girl who refused “to adapt,” while encouraging Gabi to choose a different path.
“We’ll have to begin again with someone new,” he chillingly told her of what would happen if she didn't follow his rules. “And just like Annie, you will never be found.”
Two decades later, Gabi is still determined to find out what happened to Annie and bring her justice.
What will happen to Gabi if her secret is discovered?
Gabi has dedicated her life to helping other missing people, but there’s one dark secret that no one knows: She’s a kidnapper, too.
Gabi turned the tables on Sir after tracking him down and now has her one-time kidnapper chained up in her basement. She even relies on him to help solve the team’s cases by employing his criminal mind to decipher the clues left behind by the victims or captors.
While the unconventional arrangement may have had its investigative perks, it hasn’t been doing much for Gabi’s mental health. In Season 1, Episode 9, Gabi considered relieving her guilty conscience and confessing her sin in a handwritten letter, but decided to light fire to the plan after realizing how much work she still needed to do to help others.
Her secret may be safe for now, but it may not be for long as her coworkers (especially the ever-persistent Lacey) are growing increasingly suspicious about what she isn’t telling them. It’s unclear what her end-game with Sir will be or what will happen if he’s found chained up in the basement, but we’re pretty sure it won’t be good.
What happened to Margaret’s son, Jamie?
Margaret Reed (Kelli Williams) can’t stop reliving her young son’s disappearance. Even 13 years after Jamie vanished at a bus station, Margaret makes a heartbreaking nightly pilgrimage to the station, where she sits and waits alongside a packed kid’s lunch box and fliers of what her son might look like today.
More than a decade later, the mystery of what happened to Jamie remains unsolved despite the observational expert’s clear dedication to finding her son. Will we ever learn the truth about what happened to Jamie? Is he still alive somewhere or did the missing child meet a devastating fate?
What happened in Dhan’s past?
As the muscle on the Mosely & Associates team, Dhan Rana’s (Karan Oberoi) tough exterior is often a beneficial trait, but it’s also kept him closed off from disclosing much about his past.
What we do know is that Dhan has admitted he was “abandoned and betrayed by people who looked out for him.” He also divulged in Season 1, Episode 5 that he was once held captive for years.
“I know I don’t talk about it, but for three long years I was held captive,” he told the team. “And because of that, I know how hard it is to be alone. It’s not something I wish on anyone. Especially not a friend.”
Dhan provided few other details into his long run in captivity, but we’re hoping to learn more about his complicated past and how it drove him to be the man he is today.
Who kidnapped Zeke Wallace on Found?
Tech expert Zeke Wallace’s (Arlen Escarpeta) childhood kidnapping was so traumatic, these days he’s afraid to leave the house. Zeke struggles with agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder that leaves him unable to venture outside the feeling of safety he’s created inside his home.
The kidnapping has clearly made its mark on his life, but viewers still have a lot of questions about how he was kidnapped, who was behind it and how Zeke eventually found his freedom.
And as the wealthy benefactor that keeps Mosely & Associates afloat, where did he get all that money? We’re hoping to find out more about Zeke’s past in the episodes ahead as the cyber sleuth continues to make his contributions to the team from behind his computer desk.
What happened to Sir’s mom?
Viewers got a sneak peek into the disturbing childhood home life of Hugh Evans — these days known as Sir — in a recent episode of Found. The disturbing kidnapper was once just a young boy desperate to please his overly demanding and abusive mother.
In one of the final scenes of Season 1, Episode 9, a sick Hugh (who is now being held captive in Gabi’s basement) hallucinated, taking him back to a particularly brutal exchange between mother and son.
“I don’t love you because you’re broken,” his mother coldly told him. “You’ve always been broken, you will always be broken. No one will ever love you.”
The vision ended just as Hugh, who had been cooking in the kitchen, tightened his grip on a butcher knife, leaving the viewer to ponder his mother’s fate. Was it the moment that Hugh turned into a killer? Or did his mother live to torment him another day?
To find out whether these and other questions will be answered, tune in to Found Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC or available streaming the next day on Peacock.
