Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas premieres on Hallmark Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 8/7c. You can stream it on Peacock for two days after its Hallmark airdate.

Here is the official synopsis for 2023's Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas: "Facing her first Christmas without her mother and looking to avoid loneliness, Carly (Shenae Grimes-Beech) heads to a quaint town to lead the church choir at Christmas. Once there, Carly meets Matthew (Chris Carmack), a man back in town after serving in the army. As she gets to know Matthew, the choir and townspeople, she stumbles across clues that suggest she may have been brought here for a life changing reason. As the mystery unravels one thing is clear, this journey will teach Carly about true love, learning to trust, and that forgiveness is needed to finally heal."

How the Time to Come Home Hallmark holiday movie series is related to Blake Shelton — and his mom

Back in 2012, Shelton sought help from his mom, Dorothy Shackleford, when writing a song titled "Time for Me to Come Home,"  featured on his album, Cheers, It's Christmas, released that year. A year, later she wrote a book, Time for Me to Come Home, inspired by her son's work.

“When I was making my Christmas album, I said, ‘Mom, let’s me and you write a song together, and you can sing it with me on my album,'" he said on From Apple Music With Love. "And there’s your Lucille Ball moment. You can finally have your moment to be famous. We had no idea it was going to end up turning into a book deal for my mom."

Six years later, Hallmark and Shelton decided to join forces on a series of films with names inspired by Shelton and Shackleford's song.

"Then from [my mom's] book, it became basically this series of movies," Shelton said. "It’s amazing what they’re able to do over there [at Hallmark], but it’s been a cool experience to have that with my mom.”
