Blake Shelton Had a Hilarious and Honest Reaction to His Award at the PCCAs
The former Voice Coach and Barmaggedon Host made a very good point about the Social Country Star award, but was still humble and happy.
Of course Blake Shelton kept it real. At the People's Choice Country Awards, the country star and former The Voice coach (Seasons 1 through 23) took home the trophy for Social Country Star. And if you're a little confused about what that means, well, you're in good company.
"Wow," Shelton said, nodding to someone off-stage. "I moved to Nashville in 1994. And man, I had a lot of dreams," he reflected, looking at his cylindrical trophy. "This was not one of them!"
He's not being cheeky! In 1994, social media didn't exist; it would be years before it would become a part of our everyday lives, and decades before it would be award-worthy.

"I don't even know what this means, but if the fans want me to have it, I'm damn well gonna put it on my mantle! Thank you so much, country music fans. That's right! That's right, social media! Yes!" he continued to laughter and applause, pumping his fist and pointing to the audience.
Blake Shelton on TikTok
Shelton may not know how he came by the honor, but his fans and followers sure do appreciate his now officially award-winning content. On TikTok, he entertains viewers with off-the-cuff observations and glimpses into his life on the Oklahoma ranch he shares with wife and fellow The Voice coach Gwen Stefani. He recently turned the camera on himself while out and about on his tractor.
His Instagram is similar, plus it includes some adorable pictures of Shelton and Stefani, who met while judging the singing competition and married in 2020.
Shelton isn't too active on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, but once upon a time he used it for all kinds of mischief.

Shelton wasn't the crowd's only favorite
Shelton is the undefeated winner of the Social Country Star award...because the People's Choice Country Awards have only happened once. The inaugural event was broadcast on Thursday, September 28 on NBC, and featured performances from Shelton, Wynnona Judd, Dan & Shay and more. Other winners of the night included Morgan Wallen (People's Artist of 2023), Jelly Roll's "Need A Favor" (The Song Of 2023) and "wait in the truck" by HARDY featuring Lainey Wilson (The Music Video of 2023).

The "God's Country" crooner may not be on The Voice anymore, but if you're missing him on your TV, you don't have long to wait! Not only is he returning for the second season of Barmaggedon, he has a Christmas special in the works, too. Well, a holiday episode of Barmaggedon, but same difference. He'll face off against Ice-T in "reindeer games" like "Merry Axe-Mas," "Christmas Carol-okie," and "Little Drummer Boy (and Girl)," and it'll be a jolly good time.
The holiday episode premieres Monday, December 4 at 10/9c on NBC, re-airing on USA.
