The Voice G.O.A.T. and former Coach stunned audiences with the duet back in 2014.

While Blake Shelton and Shakira have two very distinct sounds, the stars happen to make an excellent combo vocally.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

In a 2014 performance on The Voice, Shelton and the "Hips Don't Lie" singer (who was a Coach on the series for Seasons 4 and 6) joined forces for a cover of "Need You Now" by Lady A, and their contrasting voices suited the song perfectly.

The performance started out with Shelton strumming his guitar and Shakira gripping the microphone stand while they both stood in front of a fireplace on stage.

"Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor, reaching for the phone cause I can't fight it anymore," Shakira started the song.

Then, Shelton jumped in with the harmony for the pre-chorus. "And I wonder if I ever cross your mind, for me it happens all the time," they sang in unison.

For the explosive chorus, their voices blended together perfectly while Shelton used his signature twang. "It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now, said I wouldn't call, but I lost all control and I need you now, and I don't know how I can do without, I just need you now," they sang while moody sliding guitars added some flair in the background.

"Another shot of whisky, can't stop looking at the door, wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before," Shelton continued the second verse with some subtle rasp in his voice. "And I wonder if I ever cross your mind, for me it happens all the time," Shakira jumped back in.

The second chorus then came around, and the two sang their hearts out. "It's a quarter after one I'm a little drunk and I need you now, said I wouldn't call, but I lost all control and I need you now, and I don't know how I can do without, I just need you now," their voices soared together.

"Guess I rather hurt than feel nothing at all," they both sang the bridge with passion before jumping into the song's epic conclusion.

"It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now, and I said I wouldn't call, but I'm a little drunk and I need you now. And I don't know how I can do without, I just need you now, I just need you now," they repeated the lyrics, switching back and forth before bringing everything to an end by both hitting impressive sustained notes.

So, could we ever see Shakira back on The Voice as a Coach? For now, she's focusing on her family.

"It's so hard to be away from my family," she told Entertainment Tonight in 2017. "Right now, [I'm] back into making music, and I'm gonna be going on tour pretty soon at the end of the year. I miss all that."

She continued, "I used to be the center of my universe, the beginning and the end, the alpha and omega, and now I'm a satellite of my kids," she said. "I completely revolve around them. They're the center of my universe and my biggest priority in life to make sure they feel loved and that they will become good people, great human beings. That's my number one goal and then everything else is secondary."
