Blake Shelton Made the Most Fun & Unconventional Thanksgiving Meal with His Stepsons

You'll never guess the unique topping Shelton and his step-kids put on the turkey.

By Jackie Manno

Blake Shelton is the proud stepfather to Gwen Stefani's three sons, Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 9. And in a recent interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Shelton revealed the unique way he spent some family bonding time with the boys during Thanksgiving.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

"We really get into the holidays. Me and the kids they all watch TikTok and all the stuff, and so they see people making these weird turkeys," he said. "So, like a couple of years ago we had to make a Flamin' Hot Cheetos turkey...You like grind up the Cheetos and you put it on the turkey and then you make the turkey. There's really no point to it."

It sure sounds like a creative dish!

This May, Shelton received his very own star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame (an achievement that his wife Gwen Stefani was also given six months later.) In the interview with Hudson, Shelton explained how being a Coach on The Voice not only helped him with his music career, but gave him the most important gift of all: His family.

"It all goes back to The Voice. It connected everything. I was having a country music career, but then they asked me to be on The Voice, and it literally changed my life in so many ways. I mean look at the family, right there. That's the number one way it did," he gushed.

Shelton surely does owe a lot to The Voice, as he and Stefani met on the show in 2014. They started dating a year later, got engaged in October 2020, and then tied the knot in July 2021 in a gorgeous ceremony.

Blake Shelton on how being a stepfather has changed him

In a February interview with Access, Shelton revealed that wanting to spend more quality time with his stepchildren is one of the main reasons he decided to step away from The Voice after 23 Seasons.

“I think being a stepdad has changed my perspective in that I’m not the first person that I think about anymore," he said. "Even to the small little things when you go, ‘I think I’ll do this,’ the very next thought is always, ‘Well, wait a minute. How’s that going work?' Or, 'What will they think?' Or, 'How will that affect a schedule?'"

“I think the only way for me to really do that right is to step away from being committed to something like The Voice that demands a lot of your time," he continued. "There’s no way around it. If you’re going to do it and do it right, you have to be 150 percent in. And I just feel like those days are behind me for now. I got a more important job."
