As Tracy Morgan returns to NBC with a new, yet-to-named pilot, two more comedy powerhouses have joined the cast.

Saturday Night Live alum Bobby Moynihan will bring the laughs once again in a new role with his trademark humor, just as he did as Weekend Update’s Drunk Uncle, Mark Payne the bartender, and more.

NBC announced on March 17 that Moynihan, who was a cast member on SNL from 2008 to 2017, will star as a character named Gator in Morgan’s new NBC comedy, which will follow a disgraced former football player named Reggie who’s on a mission to rehabilitate his image. Moynihan’s character Gator is described as Reggie’s loyal former teammate who has always stuck with him even when things went sideways.

In addition to Morgan and Moynihan, NBC also announced the series will star Living Single and American Fiction's Erika Alexander as Monica, Reggie's childhood sweetheart from Brooklyn. Despite divorcing years ago, the two still co-parent with him and she acts as his agent and business manager.

A split of Bobby Moynihan and Erika Alexander.

Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe was previously announced as a character named Arthur Tobin, an award-winning filmmaker who moves into Reggie’s mansion to film an immersive documentary about the former star running back.

30 Rock creator and SNL alum Tina Fey will also serve as an executive producer alongside Eric Gurian and David Miner. Additionally, Robert Carlock and Sam Means will both write and executive produce while Rhys Thomas will direct the series.

Moynihan has most recently had roles in TV series including Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which Fey and Carlock created.

This won’t be the first time Morgan and Moynihan have shared the screen together. While their time as SNL cast members didn’t overlap, Morgan returned as a Host twice while Moynihan was on the show. In 2015, for instance, the two actors swapped jokes in a promo ahead of Morgan’s Season 41 episode.

“Ah, Tracy, it’s so awesome you’re hosting. Everyone’s so excited,” Moynihan said in the promo.

“Thank you, Bobby,” Morgan responded. “I’m gonna get everybody in the building pregnant!”

“That’s our Tracy,” Moynihan said as he gasped with a smile and held his chest.

Needless to say, fans can’t wait to see their comedic chemistry on screen once again.
