Bowen Yang Says This Kim Kardashian SNL Sketch Was Unjustly Cut
"It was Kris Jenner's favorite sketch."
Saturday Night Live's Bowen Yang recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and did some reflecting on the show-stopping SNL episode hosted by Kim Kardashian. During their fun chat, Yang opened up about the Kardashian sketch he wishes would've made the final episode: "Costco Meeting."
We must admit, the cut-for-time sketch was absolutely hilarious. Sarah Sherman played a Costco intern tasked with developing a marketing strategy to target teen shoppers. In the world of SNL, the only solution is to partner with an up-and-coming pop group named Glitter Revolution (Kim Kardashian, Aidy Bryant, and Yang) to do this.
Sadly, due to time constraints, the sketch didn't make it on the air. According to Yang, it was unfortunate but made sense due to the allotted runtime of the show.
"I do think it was unjustly cut...because it was cut for time," Yang told Cohen. "They just buried it in the end of the show, and I was like, 'OK, it’s going to get cut. We’re 10 minutes over.' You just know going in."
Fortunately, the sketch was later released and ended up being a huge hit. It was also a favorite among the Kardashian family.
"It’s fine, but then it got a—it had a life of its own," added Yang. "And then it was Kris Jenner’s favorite sketch, it was Khloé's favorite sketch."
Well, if Kris and Khloé gave their stamp of approval, that's all we need to know!
