Bryce Leatherwood Teased His New Song, and It Has Major Blake Shelton Vibes
The Voice Season 22 winner will surely make Shelton proud with this tune.
Bryce Leatherwood sees his The Voice Coach Blake Shelton as a real inspiration!
On August 4, the Season 22 winner of the show took to his official Instagram page to share a preview on an original song titled "Made Me, Me," and it totally sounds like something Shelton would sing.
The lyrics to Leatherwood's song tell the story of his proud country origins.
"Yeah I was growin' up, Hank had settled down. But you wouldn't know it when I rolled through town," he sang with twang while strumming his acoustic guitar. "...I'm just a product of how I was raised up, mama's sweet tea and homegrown tomatoes. Cause when you come up where I'm from, yeah you can't blame me..."
Then, he sang the meaningful lyrics to the chorus. "Cause that's what made me wanna drink, made me wanna love, put a little thing in the bed of my truck, made me wanna stand up like a man for what I believe. It made me proud of where I came from, made me shoot some prayers to the man above, from this 'ole hat crease to the boots on my feet, that's what made me me."
Leatherwood is no stranger to writing songs that explore his roots. This May, he uploaded a video of himself singing another original tune called "The One My Daddy Found." The clever lyrics talk about the qualities of a woman he loves deeply, with a special twist at the end: he was singing about his mom the entire time!

"One of these days I just might settle down, if I could find me a girl like the one that daddy found," he sang when he wrapped up the clip.
Bryce Leatherwood talks about winning The Voice Season 22
In a December 2022 interview with NBC Insider, Leatherwood explained how he benefitted from choosing Team Blake after his Blind Audition.
"Having Blake as a mentor and a friend has been a dream come true," he said. "Truly, who he is on camera is who he is off camera. That is Blake Shelton. He is 100 percent who he is in the flesh…We had so many incredible moments together, funny laughs and jokes and stories. I think the biggest thing I’ll take away from Blake is his commitment to his Artists. He loves his team. We had such a great team this year with team Blake. The powerhouse team that was!"
