All About Bryce Leatherwood's Song "The Finger" and His Upcoming New Music

Leatherwood will perform "The Finger" on The Voice Season 24 Finale Night 1 on Monday, December 18.

By Christopher Rosa

Bryce Leatherwood won the hearts of country music fans everywhere when he literally won The Voice Season 22 last year. Coached by Blake Shelton, Leatherwood's deep, baritone voice helped him soar through the Blind Auditions, Battles, Knockouts, and, eventually, the entire competition. Though only 23 years old, Leatherwood sounds like he's been playing in venues for decades — with a stage presence and performance style that mirrors the country greats. If you're a fan of Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, then you definitely need to put Bryce Leatherwood on your radar.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Leatherwood has been teasing new music all year — and he dropped his first official release, "The Finger," in October.

About Bryce Leatherwood's song "The Finger"

The mid-tempo jam is a cheeky send-off to an ex-girlfriend who Leatherwood is realizing has moved on for good. In the fun, explosive chorus, Leatherwood croons, "Yeah, he got her hand to hold on the long ride; I got a cloud of dust and the taillights. He’s got his best days comin’, mine ain’t comin’ back."

Leatherwood will perform "The Finger" on The Voice Season 24 Finale Night 1 on Monday, December 18, kicking off at 8/7c on NBC and streaming next day on Peacock.

Will Bryce Leatherwood release more music?

An exact release date for more music is TBD, but Leatherwood does have a forthcoming project for Universal Music Group Nashville/Republic Records coming. So stay tuned!

Leatherwood has previewed some other songs on social media, though it's unclear if they'll be included on his project. That said, they certainly hint at the sound Leatherwood is going for. A song he posted called "Made Me, Me" has full Blake Shelton vibes. Another track titled "Last Thing on My Mind" is heartbreaking. And a third tune, "The One My Daddy Found," is a touching tribute to his mother.
