"This Isn't Survivor": Can Boston Rob Take on The Banker and Win? Watch
He's a reality TV legend, but how does "Boston Rob" Mariano stack up against The Banker on Deal or No Deal Island?
Reality TV legend "Boston Rob" Mariano is a master manipulator and shrewd gamesman. But what happens when he takes on The Banker?
On NBC's Deal or No Deal Island, competitors tackle intense physical challenges every week only to turn right back around and play a game of classic Deal or No Deal under the watchful eye of The Banker. Just like in the original series hosted by Howie Mandel, a player approaches the podium and wards off The Banker's offers until they either win or get a good deal. In Episode 4, Boston Rob got the chance to tango with The Banker – but did he come out on top?

The Banker's opening offer is $49,000 — a surprisingly good offer. And it's one that Rob takes, resulting in the Final Case amount sitting at $1,054,000.
"There's a poker expression called 'One Time,'" Rob explains in voiceover. "It's when you pray to the poker gods to let you hit that one-outer. Tonight, I need to use my One Time. Because if I don't, I'm gone. But here's the thing: You can only use the One Time one time."
With three cases left on the board ($100,000, $400,000, and $600,000) that would result in his elimination, Rob played the odds and won, with his chosen case amounting to just $500, which is (thankfully) significantly less than the $49,000 Rob pocketed for the pot. The win also gave Rob a chance to eliminate Kim Mattina — his most outspoken rival — from the game once and for all.
And at the end of it all? Rob's protégé, Aron Barbell, was chosen as the most "trustworthy" of the group and asked to stay behind. For what purpose? Get a hint at what's to come in the next Deal or No Deal Island here.
New episodes of Deal or No Deal Island premiere on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT. All episodes will be available next-day on Peacock.
