Chris Meloni & Mariska Hargitay's Cozy, Arm-in-Arm NYC Walk Is Peak Friendship
These two have the sweetest friendship, and they're back in action filming Law & Order.
Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay just enjoyed a sweet stroll through the streets of New York City together while filming Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. And the photos are perfect.
In a March 19 Instagram post, Hargitay shared three pictures of the two real-life friends enjoying each other's company. The two actors' bond has blossomed over the 25-plus years they've been bringing the characters of Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson to life. And these pictures are just the cherry on top for fans who have followed the Bensler rollercoaster ride.
Whether talking, laughing, or posing for a selfie, you can feel the love these two friends have for each other in all these photos.
Of course, longtime Law & Order fans went wild in the comments.
"Awww besties together again! ❤️," one person wrote.
"How am I supposed to live the rest of my day now?!?!?!?!" said another exasperated fan.
Now, this leads to more questions. How will Stabler and Benson reunite on Law & Order: Organized Crime and SVU? After all, we know the two have been aiming to work together again for a while now.
"I'm actually planning on it," Hargitay told Variety when asked about her plans to reunite with Meloni on screen. "I just told [Meloni] the other day. We had a party the other night, we saw each other. It was heavenly. I met his showrunner. They want us together, and Chris and I were talking about it, and it's time. It's time now for us. This was a long time not being in each other's universe."
Meloni was actually tasked with writing the very episode that will see Benson and Stabler reunite. The last time the two saw each other, they brushed off an awkward almost-kiss that frenzied viewers.

Meloni realized the upcoming Season 5 Organized Crime episode that Benson would guest star on "was a good episode for me to write because I thought I could lend insight into how Stabler and Benson engage each other," the actor revealed in an interview with EW. "I thought I could bring greater value, because I just know them."
Benson and Stabler were partners on Law & Order: SVU for over a decade before Stabler left to fight crime overseas. Now, back in New York City and having lost his wife in a car bomb explosion, Stabler launched his own crusade against organized crime, domestic terrorism, and smuggling. But no matter where his career takes him, his world has periodically collided with Benson's.
