Adam Lambert Joined Christina Aguilera for a Powerful Rendition of "Lady Marmalade"

We couldn't have asked for a better combo for Pride month!

By Jackie Manno

Christina Aguilera and another amazing vocal powerhouse joined forces in the best way to celebrate Pride Month!

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

On June 25, the former The Voice Coach performed an epic rendition of her 2001 hit "Lady Marmalade" at the Pride Island festival in New York City. Aguilera strutted on stage in a glitter bodysuit while rainbow lights and backup dancers swirled around behind her. When it was time for the second verse, she welcomed the one and only Adam Lambert to the stage, and the crowd went wild.

When Lambert and Aguilera sang together, they belted their hearts out while shimmying to the rhythm. Lambert hit a sustained note that was impressively in Aguilera's octave before Aguilera ended the performance on a bang by singing a perfected run in one breath.

Lambert recounted the awesome performance on his Instagram page, gushing over Aguilera's talent and inspiration to him as a vocalist. "Who knew that a friendly ‘have a great show’ text would turn into an invitation to perform with the iconic diva Xtina?! Like many of you know, I’ve been a stan for her since like…. ‘2000!!! I learned how to truly wail listening to her. Thank you Xtina for this surreal moment to celebrate NY Pride!!! I adore you! 💕💕💕" Lambert captioned the post with glee.

Lambert was more than worthy to accompany Xtina on stage, as he has proven that he can sing anything and make it sound good. Exhibit A? His rendition of the classic nursery rhyme "The Muffin Man" at a concert in London earlier this month. But the twist? He pulled it off with a perfect Cher impression.

When Lambert covered Cher's hit "Believe" at the Royal Albert Hall concert, he shook things up by replacing the lyrics to the chorus with "Do you know the Muffin Man? The Muffin Man that lives on Drury Lane?" while the surprised crowd cheered.

"Sometimes you just have to give the people what they want. The Muffin Man, live from Royal Albert Hall 🎭 📹@josephsinclair," Lambert captioned the video.

This performance came after Lambert sang the nursery rhyme in a super accurate Cher voice when he appeared on That's My Jam in April. On the show, Lambert played a game of "Wheel of Musical Impressions," where he received a randomly generated classic song paired with a famous singer. While singing "The Muffin Man" in the style of Cher would not be an easy feat for most, needlessly to say, Lambert pulled it off perfectly.
