2 Country Icons Are Temporarily Replacing Niall Horan During Knockout Rehearsals
Dan + Shay will be giving fans a sneak peek of their coaching style before they join the Season 25 panel.
Niall Horan's summer 2023 was quite busy. He embarked on a tour to promote his album, The Show, and also filmed episodes of The Voice Season 24. With so much on his plate, scheduling conflicts were bound to happen — which is exactly why you won't see him in a few of the rehearsals for Knockouts.
But don't fret, as two equally awesome musicians are filling in for Horan while he's away. Upcoming The Voice Season 25 Coaches Dan + Shay are taking the reins for a few episodes of Knockout rehearsals.

What to know about Dan + Shay
Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney are two close friends that formed a country duo in 2013. Since then, they have achieved massive success, garnering over 10 billion global career streams and having a whopping nine singles reach the number-one position on the country radio charts.
Some of their hit singles include “Tequila,” “Speechless,” “All to Myself." They also won a Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance three times in a row.
In a July interview on TODAY, Smyers opened up about the duo's work ethic: "Being in a duo is the toughest configuration. We always say: There's two people. Everything's 50/50. When you're in a trio, there's always a tie breaker. When you're in a group, it's chaos. But in a duo, you have to go out of your way to work on it. Like a marriage. And time gets in the way, and if you're not actively working on it, things can go by the wayside."

In June 2023, it was announced that Dan + Shay would be the first-ever coaching duo on The Voice. They will debut in Season 25, which is premiering in spring 2024, and they'll be accompanied by returning Coaches Chance the Rapper, John Legend, and Reba McEntire.
This won't be the group's first stint on The Voice. Dan + Shay served as Battle Advisors during Season 20 for former OG Coach Blake Shelton.
"Dan + Shay, they’re both great guys," Shelton told Stage Right. "But Shay is one of the funniest human beings I’ve ever been around in my life. So it’s no wonder to me that they went on to be the big stars that they are now.”
