Suits LA Characters Try to Get John Amos a Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame
Amos made his final acting appearance on the premiere of Suits LA as an influential figure to Ted Black.
John Amos recently made his final acting appearance in the debut episode of NBC's Suits LA, which focuses on a brand-new law firm dedicated to servicing clients in the world of Hollywood entertainment.
"I'm of the age where he was a huge, iconic figure for me as a child," series creator Aaron Korsh said back in February while in conversation with PEOPLE.
Episode 7 of Suits LA honored the late great screen presence in a major way. For one thing, the title — "Good Times" — is an obvious nod to the iconic network sitcom on which Amos starred between 1974 and 1979. For another, the story itself centers around Ted Black (Stephen Amell) and Rick Dodsen (Bryan Greenberg) attempting to secure a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame for Amos after learning of his passing.

"This idea of having celebrities play themselves sometimes was really appealing to me," Korsh told the Television Academy. "So, having an iconic figure like John Amos was really awesome for me. When he passed away [last August], it was very sad. I thought, 'Well, how about if it impacts Ted and Rick [Greenberg] emotionally and they make a big deal about that?' So we dedicate an upcoming episode to John."
Does John Amos have a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame?
Unfortunately, Amos was never honored with a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame during his lifetime.
With that said, it is still possible for the actor to receive a posthumous star, as the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has done for the likes of Carrie Fisher, Ray Liotta, and Carl Weathers (to name a few recent examples). According to the official website, however, there is a two-year waiting period for someone who wishes to nominate a deceased actor.

In addition to his role as James Evans on Good Times, Amos also delivered memorable turns in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Roots, Coming to America, Die Hard 2, and The West Wing.
