After eight action-packed seasons, Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) is bidding farewell to Chicago Med
Tee will leave Chicago Med in Season 8, Episode 9, titled “Could Be the Start of Something New.” Chi-Hards have watched Dr. Choi undergo a heartwarming metamorphosis in recent seasons, in part due to being shot and losing his father.
“Playing Dr. Ethan Choi on Chicago Med has been such a gift and a blessing," Tee tells Deadline. "I am forever grateful to our fans and my colleagues both in front of and behind the camera as I embark on a new journey. I am forever indebted to Dick Wolf, NBC, and Universal Television for choosing me."
Tee continues, “What we’ve been planning for Dr. Choi’s sendoff is fitting, and it’s beautiful. I think the fans are going to absolutely love it. It’s going to bring a little bit of the new Ethan and a little bit of the old. Know that Episode 9 is going to be an amazing one.”
He adds, “I hope Dr. Choi is remembered for being the moral compass of Chicago Med that the fans and patients trusted. He always did everything he could for his patients to earn their trust and to give them the best care he could. As far as a legacy, that’s the essence of what I hope he leaves behind. When he walks away, that trust he instilled will remain there.”
While Tee's exit from Chicago Med is bittersweet, Dr. Choi will never be forgotten.
