On-Set BFFs Shanola Hampton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar Interview Each Other | Found | NBC

**SPOILER WARNING! The following contains major spoilers for Found Season 2, Episode 9!**

At long last, Found has returned for the latter half of its sophomore season on NBC!

How to Watch

Watch Found Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

For months, viewers have wondered what would happen as Gabi Mosely (Shanola Hampton) willingly returned to the place where she first met Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) two decades earlier. Why had he lured her there? We finally get some answers in tonight's Season 2, Episode 9: "Missing While Targeted."

Sir's mission at the high school in Found Season 2 return

Gabi Mosely (Shanola Hampton) wears a red jacket in Found Episode 209.

Season 2, Episode 9 picks up exactly where the story last left off, with Gabi entering her old high school, ready to do battle with Sir using a pair of badass brass knuckles gifted to her by Lacey's mother years before. She comes face-to-face with her ex-kidnapper and erstwhile captive, who admits he expected a visit from Detective Trent, aka "Heavy Boots" (Brett Dalton).

Sir says he wanted to confront Trent about seven missing children, but won't divulge the reason why. Before Gabi can make any headway, an alarm goes off and Sir becomes visibly agitated, telling Gabi to leave at once and promising to give her new information on Jamie if she complies. Before Gabi can make a decision, however, she's knocked unconscious by Sir's mystery accomplice (Sir's brother Christian is still the most likely suspect at this point).

Luckily, she's quickly discovered by Trent and brought to the hospital.

At Zeke's place, Zeke (Arlen Escarpeta), Lacey (Gabrielle Walsh), Dhan (Karan Oberoi), and Ethan (Lee Osorio) enjoy a rare night off with some karaoke in an attempt to get away from their real-world problems for a little while. Zeke is still without his tech, Lacey is unsure of whether she'll return to law school, and Dhan and Ethan have separated. There isn't much time to process these things once a new case comes to their attention: a missing drug addict named Ian Sessions (Jermaine Rivers).

After several dead ends, the team discovers that Ian is a protected witness in a murder case involving corrupt corrections officers. On the day of the grand jury hearing, an unknown assailant tries to kill Ian, but misses, hitting Dhan instead. As the critically injured Dhan enters surgery, Ethan tells Gabi to stay away. "I have had to share him with you every moment of our relationship," he says through tears, "and if this is our last one, then just please... let me have this one."

There's something about Heather on Found, Season 2, Episode 9

Danielle Savre smiles with a side part in her hair.

Elsewhere, Trent strikes up a romantic fling with ambitious and highly observant criminal defense attorney Heather Tollin, played by Grey's Anatomy and Station 19 alum Danielle Savre, who admitted to NBC Insider that it was "nerve-wracking as hell" to join the show as a brand-new character halfway into its second season.

"After playing a character for seven years, it's very interesting to then put on a new hat and be like, ‘Okay, how do I play this character? What are the differences in who she is?’" she said. "[It's] funny, because in the first episode [where Heather appears], I'm wearing no clothes, but what was interesting is how the wardrobe affected who this character was so much. The way I walked, the way I talked, just my stature. Everything about that was the first thing I really enjoyed taking on, because it was so different than the past characters I've played."

She continued: "I did not ask to know more about this character on purpose when I signed on, even though I [knew I] was signing on for a set amount of episodes. I decided to keep it a mystery. I was like, ‘[series creator] Nkechi [Okoro Carroll] doesn't want to tell me, I'm not gonna ask.' But it was very cool to see that the crew of this show is just as invested as the audience and bets were being made. So I showed up on set the first day and everybody's like, ‘We know what your character is and what drama you're gonna cause,’ and I was like, ‘Don't tell me! Don't tell me!’ But I got some tidbits and as an actor, ‘I was like, ‘Okay, don't get latched on to any storyline I've heard so far,’ as the fans shouldn't either. It was interesting to finally get that call from NK, and to have her basically give me the whole down-low on Heather's past and where her character was going."

At the end of the episode, Gabi finally works out that Sir has been traveling around in an RV, which is why he's been impossible to catch. She tries to relay this information to Trent, but only receives his voicemail. Moments later, Trent returns home to find Sir pointing the cop's own service weapon at him and brandishing pictures of the aforementioned missing kids. Those cases apparently went cold years before under the supervision of Trent's father, the legendary Detective James Trent. Sir then promises to use the unsolved cases to ruin the Trent family legacy — unless, of course, the DCPD drops its criminal case against Gabi, who shows up outside just in time to hear a struggle and single gunshot.

New episodes of Found air on NBC every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET before making their Peacock debut the following day. The complete first season is now streaming on Peacock.
