George W. Bush Took Time to Paint a Beautiful Portrait of Granddaughter Mila's Cat
Jenna Bush Hager shared the former POTUS's gorgeous painting with followers on Instagram.
Jenna Bush Hager's oldest daughter just received a one-of-a-kind birthday present from a former U.S. President — who just happens to be her grandfather.
In an April 15 Instagram post, TODAY shared snaps of Hager's Instagram Stories from this past weekend highlighted by the newest 12-year-old on the block, Mila, proudly holding up a custom piece of art created by her "Jefe," George W. Bush. The TODAY host's loving dad painted a portrait of Mila's beloved cat Maisie, once again showing off his impressive painting skills that not many people are aware of.
"A gift from jefe! She loves!" the mom of three wrote in a caption.
It's a heck of a birthday gift, and it's just another example of how utterly proud Mila's famous grandparents are of the entire family. Of course, it's not the first time the TODAY family has been impressed by George W.'s painting skills. We're pretty sure Hoda Kotb is still crying over the beautiful painting she was gifted for her 60th birthday.
A few days earlier, Hager took to Instagram to sing the praises of her oldest daughter on her special day:

"Twelve years of our darling girl--Mila we LOVE all of who you are: all heart, spirit and humor. You burrata, cat-loving, Grey's Anatomy queen! We love you so!" Hager said, while including several photos of Mila looking just like her mom.
(Fingers crossed that Mila receives a painting of the cast of Grey's Anatomy eating burrata for her birthday next year!)
Here's what Jenna Bush Hager has learned since Hoda Kotb's departure from TODAY
It's been over three months since Kotb left TODAY to focus on her family and new projects, and Hager has learned some valuable lessons in that time! In a recent interview with E! News, Hager revealed what she's learned since saying goodbye to her friend.
"It was a really good lesson in saying goodbye because I was so sad. It was almost unthinkable that she wouldn't be here," she confessed. "It's been three months, which I cannot believe… it's brought our team really close together. I'm obsessed with everybody I work with, and I really love where I work. So, it's kind of a lesson in making sure you tell the people you love [that] you love them."

However, you can take Kotb out of TODAY, but you can't take TODAY out of Kotb — Hager also explained that Kotb still tunes in religiously and even occasionally gives her feedback!
"She's giving feedback," Hager said. "She's so supportive. You all know Hoda, she's like the most supportive, amazing force. But she definitely is, like, 'OK, that was great' or, 'This is great.' She definitely has opinions, which I love. I care about what she thinks."
Fans will be happy to know that even though she's no longer on our televisions every morning, Kotb is still with the TODAY family in spirit!
