Gina Miles Hit the Silkiest High Note While Singing the National Anthem
The Season 23 Voice winner's career is heating up and the Sacramento firefighters couldn't be happier.
As the Season 23 champion of The Voice, Gina Miles made an already great day a little extra special for a graduating class of Sacramento firefighters.
On June 29, Miles made her way to Sacramento's Crest Theater to sing the national anthem at the graduation ceremony for soon-to-be firefighters. As a resident herself, she was more than happy to help the group usher in their exciting new chapter.
Watch a snippet of the incredible performance, here.
“It’s really exciting," Miles told KCRA 3 following the delightful surprise performance. "I’m really happy to be home and see everyone and to do things like this with our community. It’s important and exciting."
She also took to Instagram to reflect on the exciting set, sharing a slideshow of pictures from the firehouse. In the last pic, The Voice winner cheeses while holding a beautiful bouquet, and it seems Miles has been thriving since her life-changing run.
"Thank you @sacramentofire for having me sing the national anthem for this years fire academy graduation ceremony," the Season 23 Voice Artist captioned the post. "what a special experience and congratulations again to all of the recruits ❤️"
It's lovely to see that Miles is booked and busy since The Voice, and her Coach, Niall Horan, isn't surprised by her success. Horan knew he was looking at a star as soon as Miles tore down the house during her Season 23 Blind Audition.
"There's nothing better than hearing a very individual voice," Horan told NBC Insider following Miles' victory. "Hearing something that you've never heard before, that really gets you and gives you goosebumps... I'm glad I went with waiting for someone that, like, actually gave me goosebumps. I think that's something that I'll take into next season because they're out there."
When asked what advice she'd give Season 24 Artists and beyond, Miles gave helpful tips about battling anxiety. Famously soft-spoken, Miles became an instant fan favorite as we watched her come out of her shell throughout the season.
"The best piece of advice is that you have to work hard, and that's the best way that you're going to combat being nervous is to be prepared," Miles shared. "So we're just always prepared."
