Gwen Stefani Surprised Fans and Brought Eve Onstage to Perform Their Biggest Hits
They performed two of their throwbacks!
Nostalgia alert!
On June 24, Gwen Stefani performed at the British Summertime Concerts in London at Hyde Park. During her rendition of her 2005 smash hit "Rich Girl," she surprised audiences by bringing a very special guest onstage: the one and only Eve, who was featured on the original track.
During the performance, Stefani was decked out in a black and white checkered jumpsuit while enthusiastic backup dancers swirled around her. When she was finished with the second chorus, she introduced Eve to the crowd with glee. "All the way from London, EVE!" she shouted at the top of her lungs.
Eve then strutted onstage as the audience began to cheer. She wrapped her verse flawlessly, engaging with the crowd while she and Stefani grooved together and wrapped up the song with an embrace. See the awesome performance here.
The two then transitioned to the next throwback song, which was their 2001 duet "Let Me Blow Ya Mind." Stefani sang the chorus with perfect rhythm while Eve encouraged her, adding her own energetic backup vocals. The crowd waved along to the beat before Stefani and Eve brought everything together with another hug. Watch the exciting clip here.
The pair, who were beloved collaborators in the early aughts, last performed together in 2019 for a special performance of "Rich Girl" during Season 17 of The Voice.
Stefani has surely been impressing fans with her musical accomplishments lately, as she recently achieved a major milestone in her career. On June 26, it was announced that Stefani was selected to receive her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway!” committee member Ellen K told Billboard.
The announcement came a few months after Stefani's husband Blake Shelton received his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well. Stefani accompanied Shelton to the induction ceremony, giving the sweetest and most eloquent speech about him.
"There is no one more authentic than this guy. He lives and he breathes country music. He is a country music jukebox, and it is in his DNA. He was born to do this and hasn't done anything because he's wanted to be a star; he has just always been a star," she said.
