Why Gwen Stefani Says Doing The Voice Without Blake Is Easier Than She Thought
The Voice Season 24 marks the first time Gwen Stefani's husband, Blake Shelton, will not be on the Coaches' panel.
The Voice is a show that means a lot to Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. After all, it's where the now-married couple met back in 2014 (during Season 7). Their friendship eventually grew into a romance, followed by a marriage in 2021. Along the way, Stefani popped in and out of The Voice as a Coach. She was in a red chair for Seasons 7, 9, 12, 17, 19, and 22 — all with Shelton by her side. Remember, he's the only Coach in history to appear in every season of The Voice, ultimately deciding to hang up his cowboy hat after Season 23.
Which is why Season 24 will look a little different for Stefani. She's back as a Coach alongside Niall Horan, John Legend, and Reba McEntire — but no Blake. So, how has that experience been for her?

"It's really different being on the show without him," Stefani told TODAY in an interview ahead of the The Voice Season 24 premiere. "I miss him so bad on the show. But at the same time, it hasn't been as hard as I thought it was going to be because I think he was just so ready to have a break."
Meanwhile, Stefani was game to film another season — though she and Shelton didn't exactly foresee that happening so soon. "This is super unplanned for me to be on this season," Stefani told NBC Insider. "Every time I've been on the show, I've been like, 'Oh my god. This is my last time.' You just don't know, 'cause it's not like I signed up for 10 seasons. They call me and say, 'Do you wanna do it?' I always come back 'cause it's just so much fun."
Fun, yes, but Stefani admits to NBC Insider, "It was very last minute. So, here we are!"
