Why Gwen Stefani Says Returning to The Voice Married to Blake Shelton Is 'Surreal'
Stefani reveals why filming Season 22 alongside her husband has felt like a blast from the past.
The Voice Season 22 is currently filming, and fans are excited to see what's to come—especially concerning the Coaches. John Legend and Blake Shelton are returning to their red chairs, and joining them are Gwen Stefani (who was a Coach for Seasons 7, 9, 12, 17, and 19) and newbie Coach Camila Cabello.
This marks the first season Stefani and Shelton have been Coaches together since tying the knot last year. And in a new NBC Insider interview, Stefani revealed the best part about working alongside her husband.
"It doesn't really matter where we are," she told us. "We always have fun together."
Stefani said filming Season 22 of The Voice feels a bit different compared to her previous seasons. "Stepping back on the set of The Voice this time was very surreal," she said. "Being married, it brought back so many memories of all the different seasons that we've been on The Voice together, all the different phases of our friendship, of our relationship."
She continued about working with Shelton this time around, "It was just kinda easy and flawless and normal. It just feels like we're anywhere else we'd be together. And I have a lot of fun with him here."
"I wish everybody could have a chance to meet and talk to Gwen Stefani at some point in their life because you'll just be a better person for it..." Shelton told People magazine. "She's just a magical person to be around."
Watch The Voice Season 22 on NBC this fall Monday and Tuesday nights starting September 19 at 8 p.m. ET. Catch up now on Peacock.
