Just days after its premiere episode on May 30, the episode has seen strong growth on Peacock, where it and all episodes are available to stream one day after they air on NBC. According to Deadline, the premiere saw strong growth over five days of delayed viewing and now stands at an 0.81 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic with 4.8 million viewers across all platforms. To put it into context, the outlet reports that’s a 141 percent increase in the demographic and a 108 percent increase in total viewers from the initial premiere on NBC.
Those who tuned into the premiere episode saw host Rutledge Wood joined by automotive design experts Dalal Elsheikh and Hertrech Eugene as well as celebrity guest judge Terry Crews as they took two Hot Wheels enthusiasts and outfitted them with a state-of-the-art garage and a full team of automotive experts to turn a car from their past into the full-sized Hot Wheels vehicle of their dreams.
Each episode will follow the same format as Wood and the two experts are joined by a revolving door of celebrity guests such as Jay Leno, Anthony Anderson, and Joel McHale as well as more Hot Wheels superfans who are all working to honor their past and make their childhood car dreams come true. In addition to seeing their impossibly cool car designs come to life, the winner gets $25,000 and a ticket to the finale where they’ll get a chance at winning an additional $50,000 and the honor of having their design made into an actual Hot Wheels diecast that everyone can buy and add to their collection.
See what all the hype is about by tuning into Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge Tuesdays at 10PM ET/PT on NBC. You can catch up the next day on Peacock.
