For those not in the know, In The Know is a new adult animated series that offers viewers a look at the lives of those who create a fictional NPR series of the same name hosted by Lauren Caspian (Zach Woods). The series blends stop-motion animation and real-life celebrity interviews that go perfectly off-the-rails thanks to Caspian's strange interview style. In addition to Woods, who also co-created the show, the cast includes TV legend Mike Judge and other hilarious people who make In The Know come together. Caspian spends each episode interviewing real celebrity guests who dial in via video chat as the office action unfolds around them. As a result, they're not able to showcase the full interviews, which Woods previously told NBC Insider often lasted for more than an hour. However, for those curious about what else stars like Mike Tyson, Finn Wolfhard and Hugh Laurie had to say that didn't make the show, a companion podcast is here to help.
What to Expect from the In the Know Podcast
Listeners will be able to dive into the extended interviews that you won’t get to hear on the Peacock series. On the podcast, Lauren Caspian and his guests go even deeper with unedited, long-form interviews. Just like on the show, Caspian is joined on the podcast for interviews by popular real-life figures like Ken Burns, Finn Wolfhard, Roxane Gay, Mike Tyson, and Hugh Laurie. Of course, just like the show, there won’t be any hard-hitting, thought-provoking questions, but instead soft questions for them to awkwardly yet appropriately respond to. So far, there are five episodes ready for you to binge-listen to. The episodes are about ten minutes long or less and can be found on Spotify.
