Seth Meyers recently welcomed Lizzo — SNL’s Musical Guest on April 12, alongside Jon Hamm as the episode’s Host — to Late Night and, turns out, the “Truth Hurts” pop star is still thinking about her last visit. In December 2022, Lizzo appeared in an oh-so-memorable “Day Drinking” segment and called his dad, Larry Meyers, a “b----” in a voicemail.
Meyers revealed during the April 9, 2025 episode of Late Night that Lizzo made amends with his dear old dad. “Then you did something independent of me. I did not know you did this. I found out you did this from my dad,” Meyers said. “You got my dad’s address and you sent flowers to my parents’ house with a note that said, ‘Dear Larry, I’m sorry I called you a b----.’”
“It’s true, you guys!” Lizzo confirmed.
Meyers then grabbed his phone to get his dad on the phone “real quick.”
“Listen, I’ll call him,” Lizzo said. “But I won’t call him a b----, I’ll tell ya that much.” As the call went to voicemail once again, this epic joke continued to live on.
