But will there be a new crime to unravel this week?

Is there a new Law & Order tonight, Thursday, March 7?

Sadly, the answer is no. There will not be a new Law & Order on this Thursday, March 7.

When will Law & Order return with new episodes?

Law & Order will return on Thursday, March 14 with a brand new episode, the first featuring Tony Goldwyn of Scandal as the new district attorney.

When was Sam Waterston's last Law & Order episode?

Episode 5 of Season 23 of Law & Order, which aired on February 22, was a very special one. Notably, the episode was Waterston’s last. After playing dedicated District Attorney Jack McCoy since 1994, Waterston said goodbye to his Law & Order family.

“The time has come for me to move on and take Jack McCoy with me,” Waterston wrote in a letter to fans announcing his departure. “There’s sadness in leaving, but I’m just too curious about what’s next. An actor doesn’t want to let himself get too comfortable. I’m more grateful to you than I can say. L&O’s continuing and amazing long run, along with its astounding comeback, is all thanks to you and to Dick Wolf, but for whose vision, patience, perseverance, and unique combination of creative and business talents, none of this would have happened. I feel very blessed. I hope to see you all on the flip side.”

Waterston will be missed, but the district attorney’s office will hopefully remain in good hands with Goldwyn stepping in.

Where can I watch past episodes of Law & Order

Fans can get their criminal justice drama fix by catching up on past episodes of Law & Order that are available to stream now on Peacock

Earlier this season, fans saw the addition of Detective Vincent Riley (Reid Scott), who came to the squad after receiving a six-month suspension for punching a police captain.

Riley had good reason for landing the blow — he was defending the honor of Lieutenant Kate Dixon (Camryn Manheim) — but he had also been drinking on the job after a stressful few months at home and was reprimanded for the bad acts.
