The new Night Court is full of fresh and familiar faces. And while John Larroquette may have made his return, audiences are wondering where other beloved characters from the original may be.

How to Watch

Watch Night Court Tuesdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC and next day on Peacock

On the OG Night Court, Roz Russell, played by Marsha Warfield, was one of the Manhattan Municipal Court’s two bailiffs, along with Bull Shannon. Tough and straightforward, Roz could always be counted on to make a sly comment or witty comeback to her coworkers. Her character was first introduced in Season 4, and she and Bull formed an incredible friendship throughout the series. But should viewers expect to see Warfield on the new Night Court?

Is Marsha Warfield returning as the Night Court bailiff?

To everyone’s surprise, Marsha Warfield made a last-minute appearance on the Season 1 finale of the new Night Court. During her cameo, she reprised Roz, who got into a predicament during a bachelorette party in Louisiana. Dan Fielding just happened to be her Judge, and the two recognized each other instantly.

"She's still Roz," Warfield told NBC Insider. "She still has the same personality, the same nonsense identity. But she's been around the block a few times and lived a little life and is no longer doing the same things."

Who is the Night Court bailiff now?

With big shoes to fill, the actress who is stepping in for both bailiffs on the new Night Court is the comedian Lacretta, who plays Donna “Gurgs” Gurganous.

“I think I loved Roz's sensibility and her sense of style,” Lacretta told TheaterMania when asked about who inspired her from the original Night Court. “I was obsessed with Roz. I wanted to stand in my own character because Gurgs is her own character and is not Marsha Warfield, and she's not Richard Moll.”

Watch Night Court Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.
