There are just two episodes left in NBC's epic, 10-episode docuseries event The Americas, and the show has already covered so much ground. Narrated by Oscar-winner Tom Hanks, the extraordinary series covering the vast ecosystems of both North and South America has taken viewers to the Amazon, the Caribbean, the Andes, and much more.

Is The Americas new tonight? (Sunday, April 6)

The Americas is definitely new tonight! Just one week after an exciting journey into the Caribbean region, the show heads west, specifically to the cover the dynamic life of the West Coast of the Americas in an episode fittingly titled "The West Coast." The new episode kicks off at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC, and if you tune in an hour early at 7:00 p.m. ET, you can catch an encore presentation of “The Amazon," the series’ fourth episode.

So, what will viewers find on "The West Coast"? Well, the new episode is set to cover everything from otters to wolves to salamanders, but perhaps most excitingly, the episode will cover the largest animal on the planet, the titan of the Pacific, the blue whale. In the preview clip above, Hanks narrates as an adult and a juvenile blue whale migrate up the Pacific coast, dwarfing boats as they pass.

The episode should make a nice companion piece to Episode 3 of the series, "The Wild Wild West," as well as a nice opposite number to the very first episode of The Americas, "The Atlantic Coast."

After tonight, just one more episode remains, as the series heads to "Patagonia" for the final leg of its 10-episode run.

How to watch The Americas

New episodes of The Americas arrive Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC. Every episode so far is also streaming on Peacock; new episodes land on the streaming service the day after their network debut.

The Americas will present its season finale, "Patagonia," on April 13, followed by a making-of special on April 20.
