John Aniston, Beloved Days of Our Lives Actor, Has Passed

John Aniston, the adored Days of Our Lives actor and father to actress Jennifer Aniston, passed away on November 11, 2022 at 89. 

Aniston starred in the hit NBC soap opera for over 36 years as Victor Kiriakis. Starting his career in 1962, Aniston boasts a long and lucrative filmography, appearing in series like Mad Men, Gilmore Girls, and The West Wing. Aniston recently earned a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for his long-running role on Days of Our Lives. Jennifer accepted the award virtually on her father's behalf, giving a thoughtful speech about the exciting milestone.

"For over 30 years, his dedication to that show has gained him respect and admiration of his fellow actors, deep friendships, and thrilled millions of fans around the world. His career is literally the definition of lifetime achievement," Aniston shared, reported by People.

The beloved Friends star took to Instagram to announce her father's unfortunate passing with a touching photo collage of the daddy-daughter duo. “Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace–and without pain. And on 11/11 no less,” the post read. “You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you 'till the end of time. Don't forget to visit.”

The official Days of Our Lives Twitter also paid tribute to Aniston as one of the show's longest-running actors, tweeting, “Our hearts are broken over the loss of our beloved family member John Aniston. We love you, John. Your legend will live on.” Aniston has been appearing in episodes of the beloved soap opera since 1985, so the prolific actor will be sorely missed.
