John Cena Teases Potential WrestleMania Rematch with The Rock: "I'm Free That Day"
The April 2024 wrestling event could be an extra special reunion for the two WWE Superstars.
Can John Cena smell what Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is cooking?
On Wednesday, March 6, Cena appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about his new Prime Video comedy, Ricky Stanicky, but the conversation started with some WrestleMania 40 rumors sparked by an image from the classic '80s cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Cena recently posted an Instagram photo of He-Man and his friend Fisto, who appropriately has a giant metal fist over one hand. This has led wrestling fans to speculate that a rematch between Cena and The Rock could happen at the upcoming WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
"People on Instagram are saying that this means something," said Host Jimmy Fallon as he showed the image Cena posted. "This means maybe you and The Rock are going to get in the ring together. Can you confirm it here tonight?"

"They're going to keep talking until it happens. We don't know yet," said The Peacemaker actor, neither confirming nor denying the rumors. "I'm free that day. Maybe you won't see me there," he added, while making his famous "You can't see me" hand move.
In a previous Tonight Show appearance from January 2022, Cena explained how the hand movement started off as a dance move, but his younger brother, Sean, dared him to do it on TV, and now it has taken on a life of its own as a meme.
Cena and the Young Rock star have faced off before, at two previous WrestleManias in 2012 and 2013. Even though the matches were successful ratings-wise, Cena has since voiced some regret about how it all went down between the two WWE Superstars.

“It worked, but it worked at the cost of two people who communicated and almost put it in jeopardy. There was a moment where there was a lot of bad vibes between us, and rightfully so," he said on a 2023 episode of Josh Horowtiz's Happy Sad Confused podcast. “We made some great TV, but it was almost at the cost of our friendship, which I would like to say now is in a really good place."
