John Legend's Baby Son Wren's Smile Lights Up The Room in New Pic: "Actual Doll"

The 9-month-old showed off his adorable, gummy grin.

By Jackie Manno

John Legend's youngest son, Wren, has the most infectious little smile.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

On March 20 the Voice Coach's wife, Chrissy Teigen, shared the most precious photo of their 9-month-old baby boy, and he is totally his daddy's mini-me. In the snapshot, we see Wren laying down on the floor in a onesie after taking a bath. He has a full head of hair and gives a big, gummy smile while looking at the camera.

"Big boy got that hair conditioned hooooo baby," Teigen captioned the post.

"An actual doll," Legend commented.

We've certainly been getting a lot of sweet glimpses into Wren's life lately, as Teigen shared another snapshot of the boy on March 14. There, he wears a stylish bib, and looks curiously at the camera with his big brown eyes.

It doesn't come as a surprise that Wren was named The Cutest Baby of 2023 by People. In a November 2023 interview with the outlet, Legend couldn't help but gush over his baby boy.

"He smiles so much. That's our favorite thing about him," The Voice Coach said. "He's such a smiley boy. He just lights up the room, looks like a little Cabbage Patch doll."

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcome baby Wren

As for Wren's origin story, in a surprise to fans, Teigen and Legend announced that they had welcomed a newborn boy via surrogate in June 2023. His middle name is Alexander, and in a heartfelt Instagram tribute, the Cravings founder explained why they chose to name him after their amazing surrogate, Alexandra.

"We also met the most incredible, compassionate surrogate we could ever imagine, Alexandra. I knew she was a perfect match for us the moment we spoke to her. All of our wishes and dreams aligned. I wanted to be her friend, I wanted our children to play, I wanted dinner together, I wanted to lay my head on her belly and be able to feel the hiccups and kicks. I wanted them to be in our lives for as long as time would allow," she wrote on the post.

She added, "We want to say thank you for this incredible gift you have given us, Alexandra. And we are so happy to tell the world he is here, with a name forever connected to you. Wren Alexander Stephens. Our hearts, and our home, are officially full."
