John Legend & Chrissy Teigen Welcome a 10th Member to Their Family: His Sweet Name
The Legend family did right by the pup!
And Dudley makes 10!
John Legend’s family just grew by one! In an adorable March 23 Instagram post, Chrissy Teigen revealed to the world the newest member of their family: Dudley the bulldog! The Legend household is officially packed to the brim between mom and dad, their four children (Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren), and four pups (Pearl, Petey, Pebbles, and now Dudley).
It’s a major step for the family who have been mourning the death of their oldest dog, Penny. The sweet three-legged French bulldog died in January.
Teigen’s inspirational message was everything animal lovers could want — Dudley was rescued!
“In honor of National Puppy Day, meet Dudley – the newest member of our fam!! 🤗🐾,” she wrote in a caption.
Further in the caption, Teiegen revealed that as soon as she and Legend met the pup, they realized their hearts could open up again, less than two months after Penny passed.

“When we first met Dudley, he was fighting for his life,” Teigen wrote. “Thirteen days in the hospital, endless love from his foster family, and an incredible recovery later – he’s officially home. Nothing can replace the dogs we’ve loved before, but sometimes, the universe sends us the reminder that we need to open our hearts again. Call it kismet. 🐶💫”
Dudley’s had a rough few months, but he’s looking to make a full recovery!
A few months ago, the rescue shelter that brought him in revealed he was suffering from severe pneumonia and spent nearly a week in the puppy ER. Flash forward over two months later, and thankfully, he'll complete his recovery in the loving arms of The Voice star’s family.
What a happy ending for the bulldog — we can’t think of a more caring environment than that!
Chrissy Teigen revealed as the Banker of Deal or No Deal Island Season 2
Of course, the Legend family isn’t only celebrating the addition of the newest member of their family — they’re also celebrating Mom’s brand-new gig! Deal or No Deal Island fans were stunned to witness Teigen being revealed in a recent social media post as the Banker in Season 2.
In a dramatic March 21 Instagram video, outgoing banker Howie Mandel made way for Teigen to leave her mark on the fan-favorite show with the Season 2 Finale looming.
“I’m taking over this game! Watch how it’s done 💅🏼🔥,” Teigen said, giving fans a tantalizing tease of what to expect as Season 2 wraps up on NBC on March 25!
