John Legend Explains His Daughter Esti's Adorable John Cena Obsession
"I don't know that she knows he's real,"The Voice star said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Kids typically become infatuated with fictional characters such as Disney Princesses or Bluey — but not John Legend's daughter, Esti. His second-youngest daughter with Chrissy Teigen is obsessed with... John Cena.
When The Voice star stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 18, he gave updates on his four children, including Esti's love for the wrestler-turned-actor.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's daughter Esti had a John Cena birthday cake
"So Esti, she just turned two in January. She's kind of over it now, but there was maybe like a four-month phase where she just was obsessed with John Cena dolls," revealed Legend as Jimmy Fallon shared an image of Esti's birthday cake adorned with two John Cena action figures.
What makes Esti's love for Cena even odder is that the Legend-Teigen family doesn't even watch professional wrestling.
"I grew up in the WWF era, before John Cena was ever even heard of, and so I know all the wrestlers from back then," he explained to Fallon. "So I didn't even really know John Cena except from his movies. Maybe one of the nannies showed her, like, a doll, and she just started getting obsessed with John Cena."
"I don't know that she knows he's real," Legend laughed.
Legend was going to have the Peacemaker star film a Cameo wishing Esti a happy birthday, until the "All of Me" singer realized that Cena isn't on Cameo.
"She would have freaked out," said Legend, as Fallon added, "He's one of the nicest guys."
"Well, John Cena, if you're out there..." Legend joked, as he turned to the audience. Maybe it's not too late for Cena to send Esti a belated birthday message?

Luna is "in third grade. She'll be 9 very soon. She's doing musical theater at school. She's playing young Nala in The Lion King," he told Fallon. As for Miles, "he's really into sports."
"He'll be 7 in May. So we play a lot of football, basketball, baseball in the backyard, and he's on some of the teams at school. He's a better athlete than I was," Legend continued. "I was very good at music. God was like, 'Mnh-mnh, no. You don't get to get everything!"
