Kate McKinnon's Cat Has Some Very Strong Opinions About Her SNL Exit
Apparently, McKinnon's new schedule isn't the cat's meow.
Former Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed that a surprising member of her family is throwing shade at her SNL departure.
“Are you prepared for a non-SNL year of not going into work at 1 in the afternoon and staying up to 4 in the morning,” asked Fallon.
McKinnon admitted she’s ready to embrace a new schedule but revealed her cat isn’t thrilled that she’s suddenly making herself more available. Classic.
“My cat has been like, ’Oh, now you’re home after a decade of you being gone, out all hours. Now, you’re home. Fine, well, now I’m already asleep. Well, now I’m staying up. I’ll stay up all night, you won’t know where I am. How about that?'” joked McKinnon.
The SNL alum recently opened up to Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest on Live With Kelly and Ryan about her decision to step away from the sketch comedy show.
"I thought about it for a very long time, and it was very, very hard because all I ever wanted to do in my whole life was be on Saturday Night Live, and so I did," she said. "I loved it. I had the best decade, and then I was just like, my body was tired, and I felt like it was time."
As for whether or not she’ll be ready to watch the upcoming season, McKinnon admits she might need a bit more time.
"I don’t know that I can watch the show yet because it’s just too emo because I miss everyone so much," she said. "I mean, it’s my family…It’s my other family, so it’s too emo."
Watch Saturday Night Live on Peacock and on NBC.
