On The Kelly Clarkson Show three years ago, Clarkson decided to sing one of the most memorable songs from the early 2000s: "Toxic" by Britney Spears.
During her cover, Clarkson amped the crowd up, using twang in her voice during the verses and hitting one of her signature belted notes at the very end.

What to know about "Toxic" by Britney Spears
One of Spears' biggest hits to date, "Toxic" was released in 2003 and peaked at the number 9 position on the Billboard US Hot 100 Charts, and it won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2005.
In 2022, Rolling Stone listed "Toxic" at the number one best Britney Spears song out of 170 selections. The outlet praised the single's "swirl of spaced-out glam-disco kicks, spy-movie strings, surf-guitar twang, a beat that should wear a warning, and Britney’s distinctive slithery drawl."
