Kelly Clarkson Had a 'Date Night' With Daughter River at the People's Choice Awards
She shouted out River while accepting the award for Daytime Talk Show of 2022!
Kelly Clarkson made an appearance at the People's Choice Awards on Tuesday, December 6 to pick up the prize for Daytime Talk Show of 2022 for The Kelly Clarkson Show. She looked gorgeous in a red dress, naturally, and her date for the evening was her daughter, River Rose.
"Thank you so much," Clarkson said while accepting her award. "I'm having a date night with my daughter, River Rose!"
On taking home the Daytime Talk Show of 2022 award, Clarkson remarked, "This is really cool to get because this is where the people vote. I feel like for the last 20 years, that's been my whole career: People voting for me. So this is very important to me."
"Y'all have been supporting me," she continued. "...So I really appreciate it."
Clarkson was sure to thank the teams who make her talk show electric every single day. "It does take a huge team to make everything happen. NBC, thank you so much. You've been incredible...I'm going to go have ice cream with my baby girl!"
Kelly Clarkson also praised her team while accepting awards for her talk show at the 48th Annual Daytime Emmys in 2021.
"Thank you so much everybody for voting for me,” she said. “I would love to accept the award just for me, but honestly, I think everybody that's ever done a show like this knows there's a whole heap of people standing around behind the cameras. And our staff and making me look good and sound good and getting these brilliant stories and heartfelt stories that we get to share with everybody, and thank you to my band...I thank you for the award, but honestly, so many people are deserving of this—not just me."
