The Grammy Award-winning pop icon is known for her chic, feminine style as much as she's known for her incredible voice. Which is why an outfit she wore on January 10's Kelly Clarkson Show is getting fans so excited. The “Behind These Hazel Eyes” singer decided to shake up her aesthetic by wearing a punk rock-inspired 'fit for her cover of “All the Small Things” by Blink-182. And she, well, rocked it. During this performance, Clarkson wore a '90s-inspired long gray dress layered with an oversized flannel shirt. Better yet, she had on a gothic-inspired choker and some smokey eyeliner. Her locks were tied up in a high ponytail with two pieces framing her face, and she tied everything together with a pair of jet black combat boots. Clarkson truly knows how to match the vibes with her outfits.
There’s no doubt this badass getup helped Clarkson get into the mood of the song. Her performance was show-stopping, as always. “Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home,” she sang the track's signature lyrics while belting her heart out.
It's no surprise this performance and look went viral on TikTok several weeks later. On January 24, Spin magazine posted a clip of the performance to its account, and fans could not stop raving about Clarkson’s style choices. “The hair the 'fit the makeup the song! What a stunner! This is why she is who she is! KELLY F***ING CLARKSON!!!” one commenter exclaimed in excitement.
“Need this outfit,” another impressed user remarked. (The TikTok had racked up over 97,000 likes at the time of publish.)
As we said, this edgy look is a bit removed from Clarkson's style staples, which include dresses in bright colors, chunky accessories, and belts. During Season 21 of The Voice, Clarkson wore so many sophisticated looks, including flow-y dresses and sequined gowns, but it's been a while since she's gone full punk rock. It suits her well!
