Kodi Lee Hit the Highest Note Singing the National Anthem at His Sister's Graduation
The AGT legend took the patriotic ballad and transformed it into a Vegas-level masterpiece.
America's Got Talent alum and AGT: All-Stars finalist Kodi Lee delivers breathtaking performances time and time again. For the latest, in honor of his sister's recent graduation, the powerhouse vocalist showed his support by taking the national anthem to a new level.
As Lee's sister, Kayla Lee, prepared for her June 21 graduation from the University of California Riverside, Kodi knew the perfect way to guarantee she and the entire UCR 2023 class would never forget their special day.
As a musical savant, Lee tackled each note with expert precision as he tweaked the ballad to elevate it to an All-Stars level, adding angelic riffs and powerful belting notes. His performance concluded with an astonishing long note.
Lee took to Instagram on June 25 to share a video of the performance as well as numerous adorable photos of him posing with his happy family. "Singing The National Anthem At My Sisters Graduation!❤️🇺🇸 #HeckYeah! Congratulations Kayla! #kodilee #kodileerocks #nationalanthem #singingnationalanthem #agtwinner," Kodi captioned the sweet IG post.
NBC Insider chatted about the heartwarming ceremony and performance with Lee and his mother, Tina Lee. Ecstatic about Kayla's recent achievement, Tina says the AGT All-Star expertly "Kodi-fied" the national anthem.

"Oh my gosh, it was so good," Kodi exclaims before telling us he is "so proud" of Kayla, who earned a bachelors degree in gender and sexuality studies.
Following the performance, Tina reveals that Kodi "was so excited, he was just thrilled and jumping up and down. And he just, he loves his sister so much."
Tina explains that despite Lee's job at AGT's Las Vegas residency at the Luxor causing him to live far from Kayla, the AGT alum always relishes any chance to catch up with his siblings, especially for their milestones.
"Even though we live far away, you know because we have to be in Vegas right now, he always gets excited. He loves his siblings," Tina reveals.
Since his inspiring AGT run, Lee, who is blind and has autism, has hit the ground running as a performer, delivering spectacular shows nationwide. Kodi has shared dozens of fantastic covers on his Instagram, released a beautiful original song, "Miracle" in November 2022, and even had the honor of performing the national anthem for the NFL draft in May.
Kodi has juggled all this while simultaneously headlining America’s Got Talent presents Superstars Live at the Luxor Theater in Vegas, so the AGT legend is thriving. Tina reveals that amongst all this excitement, Kodi is also working on new music on the horizon.
"I love my job," Kodi excitedly tells us.
