Sharp curves up ahead! Actor and rapper Ludacris shared a preview of the new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster coming to Universal Studios Hollywood, and it looks like it’s going to be an awesome attraction. (Just hold on to your lunch!)

Ludacris, an integral part of Universal’s Fast and the Furious blockbuster film franchise, teased and tempted future riders with a brief message in his Instagram post. “Fast & Furious Ride Coming To Universal Studios CA 2026,” he noted. “Y’all gettin on this?”

Ludacris signed off with a flush-faced emoji that silently expressed – gulp! – anticipation about Universal Studio Hollywood’s first high-speed outdoor coaster. A day after it was posted, it had racked up over 186K likes, along with responses to Ludacris’s “Y’all gettin on this?” that included “Heck Yeah,” “Can’t wait,” and more. It seems thrill seekers can't wait for this new ride.

What Ludacris' Fast & Furious coaster first look reveals

Running about 45 seconds, the video doesn’t waste time spinning its wheel. It lets the steely monster of a dare-you-to-try thrill ride speak for itself as it showcases spectacular steep curves, sky-high climbs, and daring drops and twists.

Considering Ludacris’ music background, it’s no surprise that the video peek comes with a spot-on underscore designed to build its own brand of excitement.

Fans of the film franchise have come to expect thrills on screen. The F&F series focuses on high-octane car races, heists, and action-packed adventures centered around a group of skilled drivers with a need for speed. Ludacris plays Tej Parker, a tech expert and car enthusiast who aids the crew with his expertise.

What to expect from the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster

The new state-of-the-art attraction will be up and running – make that, rocketing – in the theme park in 2026. It is designed to “immerse guests within the high-speed Fast & Furious universe,” according to promotional materials.

Expect groundbreaking 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles and the seamless sensation of drifting cars as you spin at furiously fast speeds, the materials add.

“The arrival of ‘Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift’ will be a powerful game changer that will infuse a new level of thrill into our already dynamic theme park,” said Scott Strobl, Executive Vice President & General Manager, Universal Studios Hollywood.

The new roller coaster will be located on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. It will become a marquee ride alongside the theme park’s other thrill rides and the signature Studio Tour attraction, which commemorates 60-years of moviemaking magic this year.

Catch the Fast and the Furious franchise on Peacock now.
