Mandy Moore Reveals the Sentimental Things She Took From the This Is Us Set
"Milo and I went and did one last lap through the Pearson house," she says.
With the This Is Us series finale fast approaching, fans are ripe with anticipation for the dramatic conclusion. It’s no secret that the cast has experienced a litany of emotions throughout the process of saying goodbye to the show. During the May 10th episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Mandy Moore revealed the sentimental mementos she and co-star Milo Ventimiglia took from the This Is Us set.
"Milo and I went and did one last lap through the Pearson house and took some of the family photos off the wall and just put the frames back up," Moore told Fallon. "I also took the Steelers jersey from the Super Bowl episode...and I took my character's wedding ring."
Moore also opened up about exactly what audiences can expect from the final two episodes of the hit NBC drama. “Yeah, the second to last [episode] destroyed me,” said Moore. “I have a feeling it might destroy people too. I threw up after I read it...and maybe that’s just because it’s really close to the bone for me. Like, this has been my life for the last six years.”
According to Moore, closing this chapter for good won’t be easy. In fact, she says fans may need to take a day off work to process everything.
“It’s like I simultaneously have to say goodbye to the character and to my family and friends on set,” explained Moore. “And this character’s also, coincidently, saying goodbye as well...so there was a lot wrapped up in it. But I still think that you might need the day off work.”
Thankfully, Moore assures viewers that the final episode isn’t quite as bad as the penultimate. “The finale is a bit more of a hug. I think there’s a little bit more levity,” she said.
