Mariska Hargitay & Chris Meloni Hold Hands, Bring Loved Ones Together for Family Night
It was a Law & Order: SVU family reunion at Madison Square Garden!
Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni just spent an evening watching basketball together with some of their favorite people by their sides!
In an April 13 Instagram post, Hargitay shared an adorable carousel chronicling her latest adventure: Heading to New York City’s Madison Square Garden and sitting court side for a Knicks game! The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit icon didn’t attend by herself, though. She brought one of her children — her oldest son, August — to the game and sat next to Meloni and his wife, Sherman Williams, the entire time.
The result is a collection of photos that are just too cute for words. From a smiling selfie of the four of them to Hargitay and Meloni sweetly holding hands at one point, it looks like everybody in the arena had a fantastic time!

The talented actors who have brought Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler to life for over 25 years proved once again that their bond off-screen is just as powerful as their famous chemistry exhibited on-screen. Just a few weeks ago, Hargitay and Meloni were spotted walking arm-in-arm through the streets of New York, but something about them sitting next to each other at a Knicks game alongside their families is next-level friendship.

In Hargitay’s post, she even shared footage greeting Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson with a bear hug on the court.
Longtime fans know that this isn’t the first time Hargitay interacted with the NBA All-Star. In fact, 18-year-old August was blown away by just who his mom knows these days.
"August and I were at a Knicks game, and after the game, Jalen Brunson beelined over to talk to me," she revealed when speaking to Interview in 2024. "The next time we went, we were going into the game and Jalen wanted to meet with me, and he gave me a jersey and signed it, and then he recently, I think in PEOPLE, said that I was his favorite."
That’s when Hargitay realized that her oldest son thought she was cool!

Fans are counting down the days until April 17 — when the Season 5 premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime hits the airwaves!
The premiere is when the highly anticipated Benson-Stabler reunion will occur, and judging by the teaser trailer, it’s an episode no fan would dare miss.
The first two episodes of the season will be available to stream on Peacock on Thursday, April 17. A special telecast of OC’s Season 5 premiere will air on NBC on April 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, with the rest of Season 5 streaming on Peacock.
