Mariska Hargitay's Husband Peter Hermann Looks So Handsome in Candid New Pic
The SVU star has shared plenty of family photos from their Kenyan vacation.
Mariska Hargitay can't stop gushing about her talented husband. The actress, who for 25 years has starred as Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, is married to fellow actor Peter Hermann, and the couple and their family ventured out to a safari in Africa for the New Year. The duo is exploring a whole new medium: wildlife photography. And Hargitay couldn't be prouder.

Mariska praises her husband Peter Hermann
"My favorite photographer," Hargitay captioned a moody black-and-white pic of her husband in profile, tagging their location as the Massai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. The actress also shared a rare photo of her oldest son August along on the trip, as flashed a huge smile and was the splitting image of both her and Hermann.
Since Hermann doesn't have social media, Hargitay's taken it upon herself to showcase his work, uploading a number of black-and-white shots by him she's captioned "Peter's Pics." He's taken stunning pictures of an elephant in profile, a yawning lion, a white rhino, a sneaky zebra and a Spur-Winged Lapwing about to take flight that Hargitay called: "My favorite picture so far. Poetry in motion."
The pair wed two years after meeting on the set of SVU; Hermann had a recurring role as attorney Trevor Langan. They share three children.
In a 2018 interview with People, Hargitay spoke glowingly of her family life. “My husband is my North Star, and my kids are my teachers," she said. "Our family is so perfect, or at least perfect for me. Together we’re just this whole, happy, joyful, chaotic, crazy unit. I’ve never known anything that was more right. Peter and I, we're so different that it's been amazing how we complement each other. He knows everything I don't."
A year later, Hermann gave the outlet his own take on the marriage, crediting laughter for their decades of success. “I never thought I would have this much laughter in my life," he said. “Not just actual laughter, but also the way that Mariska is just the embodiment of laughter — of joy.”

“It’s the way we find our way back to each other,” he added. “It’s this fantastically, wonderfully ridiculous way that we can swing back and forth any number of times in any given day. But fundamentally we know we have the same destination. We know where we’re headed, and it’s good. And we know we’ll get there together.”
