He's back, and he's wearing a cheesehead hat: Mike Myers made his third Saturday Night Live Season 50 appearance as billionaire and special government employee Elon Musk on April 5. But the former cast member popped up toward the end of the "Trump Tariff Cold Open," in which President Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) attempted to assure the public following a stock market plunge in reaction to his tariff announcements.

How to Watch

Watch Saturday Night Live Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c on NBC and Peacock, streaming next day on Peacock.

"Thank you all for coming out to hear about tariffs. My favorite word, 'tariff,' which, of course is short for 'terrific idea,'" Trump (Johnson) said. "They're the backbone of my incredible plan for our economy. It's actually even better than a plan, because it's a series of random numbers — like the numbers on the computer screen in Severance. You have no idea what the hell they mean."

"You know, you're going to check your stock portfolio in a couple of days and think, 'I'm almost too wealthy'," he continued. "We're doing MAWA! But before that, we're going to do MAGDA: Make America Great Depression again."

Presenting a chart extremely similar to the real one Trump presented on April 2, Johnson's Trump attempted to justify math that some critics see flaws in, per MSNBC.

"It's very complicated, but let me explain how it works," he said, pointing to the formula. "That's a triangle. I don't know what that is, but up here, that's Xi from China, and that's me stabbing him with the sword. And then down here, that's some sideways boobs — anyway, you get it, your money's gone."

Elon Musk hawks "self-vandalizing Teslas" in SNL cold open

Upon Trump's claim that "South Africa puts a 60% tariff on everything we send them, and they've never even sent us one good thing," Mike Myers' Elon Musk jumped on over. He briefly wore a cheesehead hat, as he did in real life during his failed attempt to get a Trump-endorsed candidate elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

"That was from when I tried to buy the election in Wisconsin," Myers' Musk said. "I'm an idiot. I should have just bought Wisconsin!"

In response to the widespread protests at Tesla dealerships and reports of people intentionally damaging the cars, Musk revealed "the new Tesla Model-V — the first electric car in history to be fully self-vandalizing. With features like self-smashing headlights, self-slashing tires, and AI-powered graffiti."

And then Musk weighed in on Trump's tariffs (which President Trump didn't love).
